Groups
Beam Instrumentation (BI, German: Strahldiagnose, SD) comprises the measurement techniques which are used to detect beam parameters like beam position, shape, transmission, profile, etc. Using the measurement results, the beam and the accelerator itself can be optimized.

Arbeitsgruppen der Abteilung
Die Abteilung Strahldiagnose (Beam Diagnostics) besteht aus den folgenden 6 Arbeitsgruppen:
- Ring Instruments (RII) - Strahldiagnose der Ringbeschleuniger
- Mechanics & Infrastructure (MEI)
- Electronics Developement (ELD) - Entwicklung von Hard,- und Software in Analog,- Digital- und Hochfrequenz Technik
- HEBT instruments (HEI) - Entwicklung und Realisierung von Beschleuniger-Diagnose
- Research and Developement (RND) - Entwicklung neuartiger Strahldiagnosegeräte
- Data Acquisition & Software (DAT) - Entwicklung von Strahldiagnose-Datenaufnahmenesysteme
