How to reach Darmstadt

Darmstadt is located in the state of Hessen, only 30 min drive from the Frankfurt International Airport, one of the main European airports with direct flights to all major world cities. Darmstadt is called the “City of Science”. Over 30 academic and research institutions are located in Darmstadt, including the University of Technology, four Fraunhofer Institutes, two European Space Agency centers (ESOC and Eumetsat), one Helmholtz Institute (GSI), and one University of Applied Sciences. The main headquarters of the Merck chemical company are also in Darmstadt. If you wish to reach Darmstadt by train, please consult the timetable on the German railway webpage. The Darmstadt train station is located in the city center.

Accomodation
