Doctoral researcher part-time 65% in “Theoretical Neutrino Physics and Nuclear Astrophysics” (d/f/m)

GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerators for science. Currently, the new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) one of the world's largest research projects, is being built in international cooperation. GSI and FAIR offer the opportunity to work in this international environment with a team of employees committed to world-class science.

For our Nuclear Astrophysics and Structure department, we are looking for a

  • Investigation of implications for nucleosynthesis

The following qualifications and skills are desirable:

  • Master's degree in Physics or Astrophysics
  • Experience in Neutrino flavor oscillations
  • Experience in Hydrodynamic simulations and scientific high-performance computing
  • Experience in Nucleosynthesis or nuclear physics

You may expect a multifaceted and interesting position within an internationally leading research institution. The project offers collaborative work with other groups at GSI, neighboring universities, and other institutes worldwide.

The position is limited for three years.

Salary is as specified in the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD Bund), effective at GSI. Applications from the international community are invited.
